The workflow everybody actually has is: copy the paragraph, switch to a browser tab, paste it, write an instruction, wait, read, copy the result, switch back, paste, fix the formatting it destroyed. That is nine steps to change a sentence.
Select the text, press a hotkey, and it rewrites in place. You see the change before it commits and you can undo it, and your formatting survives, which is the part that fails most often when text makes a round trip through a chat window.
The bar I am building to is that it works in Slack and in VS Code, because those are exactly where the existing tools quietly do nothing. And it should never, under any circumstances, paste the words Sure, here is a more formal version into your document.

Which model does it use?
Undecided, and I would rather it be swappable than pick one and marry it. This part of the field moves faster than a release cycle.
Does my text get sent to an AI provider?
For a cloud model, yes, necessarily. That is worth knowing before you point it at anything confidential, and it is the honest reason a local model option belongs on the roadmap rather than the marketing.
What if I do not like the rewrite?
You see it before it commits, and undo puts your original back. A tool that overwrites your work and then asks you to trust it has the interaction backwards.
